When designing a website, try to be unique in presentation to give your visitors a reason to stick with your list rather than other lists. Even if you cannot come up with a unique design, you can always add unique content and images to your site especially if it is a blog. Don't forget to add the autoresponder components which are essential in list building. There are several autoresponder services that can assist you and are not very expensive.

Start the Marketing

With your website fully functional, you can start sharing the address to your website. If you have not purchased a domain name yet, now is the time to do so because the domain name should be something that your audience can remember. Smoothly beginning your marketing involves choosing a few locations that you are comfortable with. There is no best method here but it is best to know the choices so you can take your pick. There are social networking sites, advertisement directories, forums, blogs, article directories, and other places where you can do list building. All of these areas have one thing in common and it is the fact that they are all free. Do not go for the paid marketing methods until your list starts to grow using your free methods.

Once your list starts to accumulate as a result of your efforts, make sure you keep your list updated and actively give support whenever requested. Doing this will reduce the chances of your list shrinking. You can then use this list to actively promote other affiliate businesses through email marketing.
